While growing up around the world of construction in Washington, Hawaii and Arizona, John always had an interest in the process of building and the intricacies of how materials interface. These varied contexts also began to forge a strong sense of how place and culture can shape architecture and design. While earning his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Idaho, he was able to explore and expand on these sentiments through work on multiple student led design build projects. These diverse personal experiences and hands on education have coalesced into a passion for site driven design, material culture, and fostering social connection through architecture. Outside of work, John enjoys tinkering with projects, exploring the outdoors, playing golf and soccer, and has been a devoted Seattle Seahawks fan for many years.
