3150

3150 is a top-to-bottom renovation of an existing residence in Seattle. The existing foundation was preserved to minimize disturbance to the site but construction doubled the overall square footage of the residence to 3,000 sf. Its design reflects an evolution of the concepts that were introduced at the MTM Residence and LS Residence. By removing the existing postage stamp entry and relocating the main entry to the lower level, circulation through the house is improved and is tailored to the family’s day-to-day lifestyle and extracurricular activities. Exposed cross-laminated timber ceilings and stair guardrails are some of the featured elements throughout the house that provide a warm contrast to the concrete floors and steel beams.
